ABOUT MYA K
“Stars are born not made”, this best describes Mya K, the 11-year old British Nigerian singer, dancer and actress who is serenading the world with her breath taking singing dexterity and performance prowess. Mya K started singing at the tender age of two and has never looked back since. Based in the UK, she realized quite early that her purpose on earth is to touch and affect lives through music.

Signed to First Entertainment and currently working on her debut E.P, Mya is already causing a stir in Nigeria with her music. After having released three hugely popular singles in 2011 - “I’ll Survive”, “Superstar” and “Xmas Charity” - which are still enjoying massive airplay on Nigerian radio, Mya K was specially invited to perform at the Calabar Festival by the Cross River State government in December 2011 and was also invited by Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State to perform at a Christmas concert in the same month.

At only eleven year of age, Mya K has performed alongside African A-list stars like P-Square, Julius Agwu and Jim Iyke as well as graced the stage at prestigious UK venues such as the Beckenham Festival and Bloomsberry Theatre while winning several accolades along the way such as the Gazelle Trophy for poetry and prose in 2010, two scholarships from London’s Herbert Justice Academy of Performance Arts and Kent College Pembery respectively and a Merit in ISTD Olympic award earlier this year. But that is not all; Mya K is deeply involved in charity activities, determined to be a voice for the voiceless and in December 2011, launched The Pink Petal Charity Foundation to tackle issues of child trafficking and protection of child rights.
